Roger Williams Park Zoo Educational Pavilion

Providence, RI

Pariseault Builders delivered the ground-up construction of a new wood-framed education building featuring all new systems, finishes, and site development—all within the unique setting of an active zoo. Careful coordination and planning were essential, as the site remained fully operational throughout construction. Strategic logistics and scheduling played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of zoo visitors, staff, and animals while maintaining project progress.

In addition to the main education building, the project scope included installation of a new photovoltaic (PV) system, construction of a pavilion building, and extensive pavilion site work and landscaping. Designed to inspire curiosity and connection, the new facility will provide engaging, hands-on educational experiences for all ages, fostering a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the environment.

The Education Center will host a variety of community and on-site programs—including a nature-based preschool—ushering in a new era of learning, engagement, and community connection for Providence residents and visitors alike.
